Came across this amongst various things at my Granny’s today. Sent by my Grandfather’s brother home, presumably in 1937 the coronation year of George VI.

Josephine de Beauharnais and Marie Louise of Austria
Josephine de Beauharnais (1763-1814; Empress of France, 1804-1809) was born in Martinique. Her first husband was guillotined in 1794 during the Revolution, but she escaped with brief imprisonment. In 1796 she married Napoleon Bonaparte. He divorced her in 1810 because she could not produce an heir. Despite the heartbreak of the divorce, Napoleon and Josephine loved one another and remained close friends as long as she lived. For Napoleon’s part, their parting was simply political.
Marie Louise, Archduchess of Austria (1791-1847), second wife of Napoleon, bore him a son, later styled Napoleon II. Only seventeen when married to Napoleon, her life was a bleak one. His wars occupied him completely. Eventually she was to become a refugee from the armies conquering France and deposing her husband. She returned to Austria and was later made the Duchess of Parma. She entered a morganatic marriage with a man named Neipperg and died at fifty-six.
